We are a non-profit organization that was formed  in 1994 for the purpose of providing emergency  assistance to those in need in our community. We provide various types  of assistance to anyone who needs food,  clothing, help with utilities, help with rent, financial  counseling, or help with applying for government benefits.

"Our mission is to enhance the dignity and quality of life of all people by providing basic human services that alleviate poverty and meet other needs of our community"

Our IRS Determination Letter can be accessed by clicking here

In 2007 we had to move from our original location beside #1 Highway in
Hoffman to a new location at 267 Blues Bridge Road, Hoffman because our
facility was bought by the Department of Transportation in order to expand the
highway through town. A new facility was built so we would have a better place
for our clients who need help to come. Our facility has a much larger storage
area than the previous location and is better equipped to accommodate our
disabled clients.

In 2013 we celebrated our 19th year of assisting those in need in the Hoffman,
North Carolina community as well as giving assistance to others within
Richmond County.  We are currently feeding 90-100 families per month, and
feeding more than 2500 individuals per year. This is all being done in our
limited schedule of being open for only a few hours each week.

We began our Utility Assistance Program in 2009. In our first year we assisted
19 families with their utility bills. In 2011, we assisted the same number of
families with utilities as well as helping 6 additional families pay their rent.
These types of assistance are necessary to provide many families with the
basic necessities of life; food, heat and shelter. Without these programs there
would be more families who go hungry, do without heat or have no place to call
home.

IIn April, 2012, Wells Fargo bank donated property to us that we are converting into a Senior Center for our community. We're still preparing the new senior center for our elderly. Flyers will be sent out prior to opening. To learn more about our Senior Center click here.

If you are in need of utility assistance or rent assistance, please call to make an appointment with our staff to see what we can do to help you. (Funds are limited and each case must be evaluated independently to see if you qualify.)

To make an appointment you can call us locally at: (910) 281-5957 or toll free at:
1-877-657-2425.  Please leave your name and a number where you can be
reached and we will return your call with an appointment for you.

Our goal is to show compassion and caring to all our clients who
ask for assistance and to offer any assistance available to fill
their needs.
